Our judges are combing through the amazing videos you sent us to find the next great Tiny Desk performer.
While we’re busy with that, you can watch videos from this year's entrants.
Update, April 30: A letter from Bob Boilen:
I'm writing today with an update to this year’s Contest: Because of the coronavirus pandemic, our annual On The Road tour with our winner won’t be happening. We’re so disappointed about this news, but our priority is to keep everyone in the Contest community safe.
Going on tour with our winner and meeting dozens of artists in their local music scenes has been a highlight of the Contest every year. There’s nothing that can replace the magical feeling of being in a room full of people who were brought together by this Contest, or the thrill of discovering new great artists in that special setting.
Though we’ll be missing you this year, we think we have an exciting alternative: a new virtual series, a listening party of sorts, with our judges and Member stations that we'll be announcing soon. Our hope is that it will create that sense of being in a room together experiencing new music in a time when we can’t physically be together. The series will lead up to our 2020 Tiny Desk Contest winner announcement, and our winner will still come to NPR’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. to perform at the Tiny Desk when it’s safe to do so.
We’re really excited about this new opportunity and we hope you will be, too. You truly impressed us by going above and beyond to record entries under less-than-ideal circumstances this year, and we can’t wait to share your talent with the world.
Stay Tuned For The Winner
We’re watching every single entry right now and will announce the winner here soon!
The winner will play a Tiny Desk concert at NPR in Washington, D.C. and be interviewed on NPR's All Things Considered.
